Wagner’s select, yet comprehensive graduate programs are offered at convenient times and provide small class settings for educational excellence. Classes are small and scheduled year-round in late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Our faculty are superb, combining theoretical expertise with practical experience in the field. A number of graduate assistant positions and financial aid options are available to support students. All graduate applications are processed by the Office of Admissions.

The Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Nurse Educator accepts applications for the Fall Term only Deadline: February 15*  Please note, master’s prepared RN’s may apply for the FNP Post Master’s Certificate Program in either Fall or Spring  In addition to complete online application, please submit the following: 
  1. Official transcript from each post secondary school attended, 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
  2. Résumé (can be uploaded with your application)
  3. Two letters of recommendation, preferably from former or present employers or professors
  4. Copy of your NY State RN License
  5. $60 application fee
International Applicants, additional requirements 
  1. International applicants must submit an official copy of post secondary school transcripts in original language of issue, accompanied by a certified English translation and evaluation. Transcripts must be evaluated on a course by course basis by a NACES Member.
  2. Proof of English language proficiency is required.  Students may demonstrate proficiency by submitting one of the following: Minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79 or 550 for the paper-based test; IELTS band score of 6.5 or higher

Process for Doctor of Nursing Practice Application  Application deadline July 31 
  1. Graduate Admissions will screen applications and submit the completed admission packet for all qualified applicants to the DNP Admissions Committee.
  2. Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the DNP Admissions Committee. During the interview with the DNP Admissions Committee, applicants will be required to provide a writing sample (250 word minimum)
  3. Graduate Admissions will notify all applicants of their status after the selection process has been completed.
Admission Criteria  In addition to complete online application, please submit the following: 
  1. Original transcript from master’s in nursing program with a family nurse practitioner focus from a program accredited by a national organization.
  2. A 3.4 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale for masters course work
  3. Current unencumbered Registered Professional Nurse License in New York State and a New York State certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  4. National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Commission
  5. Documentation demonstrating current clinical practice
  6. Current résumé
  7. Two letters of recommendation from individuals able to comment on the academic ability, clinical expertise and professionalism of the applicant
  8. Professional writing sample written on site
  9. Interview
  10. $60 application fee

Fall Term Programs  The MS Ed in Adolescent/Special Education accepts applications for the Fall Term only (June start). Deadline: December 1     The MS Ed Childhood/Special Education and MS Ed Early Childhood/Special Education Programs accept applications for both Spring and Fall semesters. Preference is given to applications received by June 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester.  In addition to complete online application, please submit the following: 
  1. Official transcript from each post secondary school attended
  2. Two letters of recommendation, preferably from former or present employers or professors
  3. GRE Score (please note GRE is not required for Higher Education and Learning Organizations Leadership Program)
  4. $60 application fee
International Applicants, additional requirements

Our Advanced Physician Program is available to practicing PA’s who have a bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistants Studies.  If you are interested in becoming a Physician Assistant please visit our Undergraduate Admissions Page.  This Program accept applications for both Spring and Fall semesters. Preference is given to applications received by June 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester.  In addition to complete online application, please submit the following: 
  1. Official transcript from each post secondary school attended,  3.0 required
  2. Two letters of recommendation, preferably from former or present employers or professors
  3. Evidence of successful completion of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistants (ARC-PA)
  4. National certification or eligibility for certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  5. State licensure or eligibility for state licensure
  6. Supplemental application consisting of three focused essays
  7. Panel interview
  8. $60 application fee
